GREEN GINGERBREAD SMOOTHIE

I am experimenting with different foods that work well for a winter detox.  There’s nothing better than coming in from the bitter cold to a plate or cup full of warm-natured food, right?  There’s a difference between food that is warm in temperature, and food that is warm-natured.  Warm-natured foods, such as cinnamon, help to promote optimal metabolic function in the wintertime and they don’t necessarily have to be heated to do their magic.

I thoroughly enjoyed my latest recipe making Chai with black tea and essential oils.  So I thought, wouldn’t it be neat to make a breakfast smoothie for the food portion of the detox that involved some of the same flavors?

This smoothie is creamy and delicious.  It tastes like gingerbread, satisfies the sweet tooth, warms the body, and detoxifies at the same time.
