Life Flexibility to Travel
I have to say, I am absolutely in love with what I do! Just a few years ago I was sitting behind a desk all day working for someone else. I didn’t have the time or the flexibility to travel. Now I’m fitting work in to my life, rather than the other way around. I get to work when I want, how I want, and from wherever I want. Last week I was in Guatemala, this week I’m in Anaheim a block from Disney Land. No joke!
Just a few years ago I felt uninspired in my career, I was overworked and stressed-out, and I had absolutely no idea what my future held. If you had told me back then that my life and career were about to take a 180, that soon I would be traveling full-time with my husband, working for myself, and enjoying life flexibility, I would not have believed you. But today, that’s my reality, and life is good.
Work/life balance is so important for overall well-being. I can’t tell you how many times I came home after working an 80 hour work week at my previous J.O.B., stressed out, fatigued, and on-edge. My relationships suffered, my physical and emotional health suffered, my diet suffered, and on the weekends I had just enough energy left over to veg-out in front of the T.V. with a pile of junk food. I didn’t have the time or energy to worry about taking care of myself because I was too busy taking care of my work. I can finally say that I have found balance in my life and in my work.
I now have as much time and energy as I want to take care of my health and my relationships and I have plenty left over to bring new experiences in to my life. As wonderful as all of that is, it’s really just a bonus. The best part about what I do is that I get to empower others to become their very best selves. I get to teach people how to take care of their family’s health with natural solutions, and if they’re looking for life flexibility, I get to be their business and life coach too.
How many people can say that on the busiest day of the month for their business, they were actually getting productive work done, taking phone calls and answering texts and emails while in line for the Buzz Lightyear or Pirates of The Caribbean rides at Disney Land?
How many people can say they have the flexibility to travel to Guatemala for a friend’s destination wedding, spend 12 days traveling around, and the following week to be racing around Disney Land? Growing my own natural health business has allowed me the flexibility to work from anywhere in the country and in the world. We have been traveling full-time around the US in an RV since August, 2014. This week we’re in Anaheim, CA. Last week, we were in Guatemala. I’m serious!
I didn’t have to worry about taking vacation time off because my business works for me when I want to take a break, and if I want to fit in some work in between watching my friend walk down the isle of an 18th century convent in Antigua, Guatemala, and hiking a volcano, or cliff jumping or hiking at Lake Atitlan, all I need is a wifi signal. Yes, even Guatemala has moved in to the 21st century!
Of the over 100 wedding guests, the majority were not able to take enough time off to explore Guatemala and literally flew down for a three day weekend. As they were getting on an airport shuttle the morning after the wedding, my husband and I were getting on a bus to Lake Atitlan for another week in that amazing country.
I have found my passion in life. I get to help people with their health, to show them that there is hope and a future for them where they can take care of their family’s health from home, and even find work/life balance. As an added bonus, I’m on track to making a six figure income this year!
