My grandmother lived to be 100 years old. No joke! This lady was still playing tennis well in to her 90’s and she was still sharp as a tack at the end. But she would have been the first one to tell you that her mental and physical health was due to a lifetime of consistent and positive daily actions.
It’s easy for us youngsters to live in the now and forget about the role our current lifestyle and eating habits will play in our future health. But what I’ve learned from my grandma is that it’s the little things we do (or don’t do) on a daily basis that will add up to how healthy our bodies and minds will be as we age.
A Thriving Life is about looking at the entire picture of your life and seeing how different factors, such as lifestyle and the foods you eat, play into your overall health and well-being.
Think about it, what you did yesterday or last night effects how you feel today right? It may not always be obvious, but ask yourself this…
When you wake up in the morning, are you tired or energized? Is your mind clear or scattered? Do you have sustained energy throughout the day, or do you feel run down in the afternoons? After you eat, do you need a nap, or does it give you the energy you needed to go to that yoga class you paid for? How is your digestion?
Your Thriving life will include positive lifestyle and food choices that will nourish and sustain you, giving you energy and vitality, rather than taking it away. You have to find what makes you feel good, eliminate what doesn’t, and fit it in to your busy life in a simple and manageable way. I’m here to give you the tips and inspiration to get you to where you want to be.
Here’s to your Thriving Life!
